Mammoth Snow
Service policy
Last updated November 2026
How our season service works, in plain words. This page explains what to expect. The signed service agreement is the final word.
What we do
You pay one flat price for the season, December 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. After every qualifying snowfall we clear the areas listed in your agreement, and send you a photo with the time. It doesn't matter if it snows ten times or forty.
What counts as a snowfall
A snowfall of 5 cm (2 inches) or more. We measure it and decide in good faith. Lighter snow isn't part of the season service. We may clear it anyway as a courtesy, which doesn't change the standard.
When we come
- Normal snowfalls (5 to 25 cm): we clear within 12 hours after the snow stops.
- Big storms (25 cm or more) and freezing rain: the window stretches to 24 to 36 hours so we can work safely.
- Snow that keeps falling for hours or days: we clear after it stops, and may make an extra visit during the storm.
- Unsafe conditions: if travel or work isn't safe (severe storms, road closures, equipment trouble, illness), we may delay. We'll let you know and finish as soon as it is safe, at no extra charge.
How we clear
- We clear the listed areas to a reasonable width. Bare pavement isn't guaranteed, and a thin layer of snow may remain.
- Snow goes to the edges of the cleared area or another suitable spot on your property.
- Snow the city plow leaves at the end of your driveway is cleared once at the visit. If the plow comes by again afterwards, we don't need to return for that alone.
- After each visit you get a photo and a dated log entry.
Sidewalk shovelling (add-on)
If you add sidewalk shovelling, we clear the sidewalk in front of your home after every qualifying snowfall. If you don't add it, the sidewalk stays your responsibility, including any duties your city's bylaws put on property owners and occupiers.
Salt and ice
Salt and ice treatment isn't included this season. Snow and ice can come back or form again soon after we leave, so please watch conditions between visits and treat your driveway if it gets icy. We don't promise an ice-free surface.
What we need from you
- Move cars and other items off the driveway before the snow. If something blocks the way, we clear around it and the visit still counts.
- Mark hidden hazards before the first snowfall: curbs, garden edges, sprinkler heads, low walls, pavers, loose stones, septic covers. Tell us about any damaged or uneven surface.
- Keep bins, toys, hoses and decorations out of the areas we clear, keep gates unlocked, and keep pets away from the work area.
- Tell us right away if your property, parking or access changes.
Damage
We take reasonable care and will fix or pay for damage caused by our negligence. Plowing and shovelling can scuff surfaces, shift gravel or stone, and show up existing cracks. Minor wear like that isn't damage. We aren't responsible for hidden or unmarked objects. If something is damaged, send us photos within 7 days of the visit so we can take a look.
First-visit guarantee
If you aren't happy with how we did on your first winter visit, tell us within 7 days. We'll come back and fix it. If you still aren't happy after that, we'll refund your winter season in full. The guarantee covers your first winter season only, and doesn't cover lawn or fall services, which are quoted and priced separately. It also doesn't apply to damage caused by things we were told about or that were marked beforehand, or to snow that was still falling when we left.
Cancellations and refunds
- Cooling-off: you can cancel within 10 days of signing for a full refund if we haven't cleared any snow yet.
- Cancelling later: we keep the part of the price that covers the days of the season already passed. The rest is refunded within 14 days.
- If we can't finish the season: we refund the unused part, or arrange a replacement contractor you approve.
- Moving or selling: with our consent you can transfer the agreement to the new owner, or cancel on the terms above.
